Guess you'll actually have to subscribe to each group in which you want
to member at Yahoo Groups.

And how is this an Outlook question? Yahoo Groups is a private service,
much like forums, and you can't connect any NNTP client, like Outlook
EXPRESS, to them. They do send e-mails if you configure to get them for
replies to a thread in which you participate, but that's e-mail and has
nothing to do with whatever e-mail client you happen to use.

Non-Yahoo Group incoming and outgoing email work, and incoming Yahoo Group
mail works through Outlook. Outlook will not allow me to reply to Yahoo
Group list posts for some reason.

Any help would be appreciated.

In what way is this an Outlook question? If it is an Outlook question,
state your Outlook version, exactly what you're trying/clicking, and exactly
what happens when you do it.

Outlook 2007. I open a posted message that has been sent to my Outlook
Inbox, and click on the reply button to respond. The message appears to have
been sent per the Sent Items list, but it does not make it to the group list
nor does it ever arrive as an incoming mail item. (That sequence of events
always happened when I used my old computer and an older version of Outlook.)

If it is in the Sent Items, then your ISP has accepted the message and the
problem is theirs.

What happens when you reply to Yahoo groups? I'm a member of a few and can
send & receive mail fine from them

So are you planning to elaborate on what "not allow" means? I could
venture some guesses but the possibilities would take longer than I have
time in an evening to recite.

Okay, so you sent a copy of your outbound mail to your e-mail provider.
That's the end of your control. If your e-mail provider doesn't
deliver, all you can do is bitch to them about it. Just because you
*get* e-mails from a Yahoo Group doesn't mean they *accept* them. Also,
there may be requirements in the headers that Outlook doesn't support.
For example, using Outlook will screw over many mail lists (i.e., where
the "group" discusses topics via e-mail threads versus leaving them on
an NNTP server for anyone to yank when they want).

Outlook doesn't support the References header in e-mails and that is
used to determine the hierarchy of posts within a discussion. So you
end up with some participants talking just fine and then comes along an
Outlook users that mangles the thread because of the lack of the
References header. Microsoft likes to use some other header to track
the hierarchy of messages within a discussion (don't recall what it is
right now). The rest of the world doesn't give a gnat's fart about
Microsoft trying to use some other header than the one intended to track
hierarchy (i.e., the References header). Just because Outlook does
e-mail doesn't mean Microsoft got it right AND compatible.

What happens when you use an e-mail program other than Outlook, like
Outlook Express?
