Hi,

Please don't reply on these kind of messages, now the OP message will
probably stay be removed and yours and mine will stay.

To the OP did you know that there are a lot of test newsgroups on the
microsoft newsserver. Please use that.

On the subject: How come this newsgroup (and also
microsoft.public.dotnet.languages.csharp) is subject to so much spam? Aren't
they Microsoft monitored newsgroups? Then surely it should be possible to
keep the spam out of the groups...

Cheers,
Johnny J.

In my idea is the spam something as twice a month avarage, does that mean
much?

AFAIK have only limited persons by Microsoft the possibility to remove
articles. Surely not the Microsoft people who monitor these newsgroups. They
have AFAIK (again) to ask this as well.

In my idea is that fine, otherwise the monitors could remove every article
they did not like.

I haven't done statistics, but it seems to me to be a lot more than just
twice a month. It seems more to be every or every other day.

I didn't know that the MS monitors didn't have the abilty to remove spam
messages. I thought that came with the job so to speak to be able to
moderate the forum. But now I know.

Cor probably has most of the spammer's in his kill file - but if you
use google groups, or another non kill file reader, you will see spam
posts almost daily.

AFAIK, Microsoft removes some spam from their servers, but normally
only very offensive posts. Also, this group is toted as a public, non-
moderated newsgroup so removing to many posts would break that
statement. As far as the "Microsoft people who monitor these
newsgroups" I think Cor is talking about the MS Employees who's job is
to give support to people who have subscribed to a special MS support
program. These aren't group moderators, but just people who get to
post to the ng for a living (and to think we do it for free :) )

Thanks,

I find it very hard to believe that the posts making it through to this newsgroup
aren't checked in some way. Even if it's only a very cursory automated check
for medicinal references.

I will admit that there is some spam on these groups but it appears to be
very little on the whole.

Unless of course Omea Pro is somehow dealing with most of it for me.

Signal to noise ratio appears to be pretty good on these lists.

You gotta admit they are a big obvious target if you wanted to spam , this
would be a great place to do it.
