xupiter - make it go away

I would like to get rid of this xupiter program, but it
seems to have a life of it's own and won't allow itself
to be removed. I don't know how I got it, or where, but
I want to be done with it a.s.a.p. Any help would be
most appreciated.

get AdAware from Lavasoft and Spybot-Search&Destroy. What
the one doesn't find, the other does, and they will remove
it and more, and they can be programmed to never allow
specific spyware to get installed in the first place.

To deal with any sort of "adware" and/or "spyware,"such as Gator,
Comet Cursors, Xupiter, Bonzai Buddy, or KaZaA, and their remnants,
that you've deliberately (but without understanding the consequences)
installed, two products that are quite effective (at finding and
removing this type of scumware) are Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and
SpyBot Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de/. Both have
free evaluation versions. It's even possible to use SpyBot Search &
Destroy to "immunize" your system against most future intrusions. I
use both and generally perform manual scans every week or so to clean
out cookies, etc.
