X's in pictures and link windows

When I go to certain websites, I can see some text and
pictures, but others have red x's in them.
Some are links -it says click here but there is a red x
in a box and nothing happens.
Others are pictures with a red x that won't load.
Other pictures on the site load.
Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

I have "show pictures" enabled.
