Currently we use SUS to manage our updates on the majority of our
workstations. There are a select few who do not and they have automatic
updates turned on and pointing to windows update.

Will these users be affected by this deadline. Will they be prompted to
Accept the EULA? Even if they accept it, will it still install eventhough
the logged on user is not an admin on the desktop?

I have seen some eventlog messages stateing that the following updates have
been download please log on with an administrator account to install the
update. Will this be the message that will be seen along with that annoying
popup.

I'm not certain if SP2 will install without an administrator account, but I
have yet to see a SUS managed machine ask for an account with those rights.
If it fits within your business model, which I do not pretend to know, nor
presume to suggest, you might find it beneficial to have SUS handle all the
workstations, since you can then simply not approve SP2 until such time as
you desire. And, it will install without an administrator being logged on to
the workstation (At least, at my workplace it did. Probably because it was
being pushed by a Domain Admin, like all the other SUS based updates.)

FWIW, I have been using SUS for nearly two years with no difficulties, and
pushed SP2 out as soon as it was available, with the only snag being that
darned Windows firewall defaulting to on, instead of off. However, a simple
registry setting script took care of that.

Yes, I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I thought you
might be interested.
