xpsp2 adm - how to use it?

Hi,

I'd like to use the noxpsp2update.adm option to block the
auto update of xpsp2 but I'm not sure how to apply it.
We're new to AD and haven't done much with group policy.
Can someone help out? I see I can add a policy in AD
under user properties. Is this where I can put it into
effect?

Thanks,

The ADM template allows administrators to import the new group policy
settings to block or unblock delivery of Windows XP SP2 into their Group
Policy environment, and use Group Policy to centrally execute the action
across systems in their environment.

Thanks. I understand what the .adm would be used for,
what I don't know is how to get the policy implemented in
AD. Never used group policy before. Do I simply "import"
the .adm under "user", "properties" then add it to the
group policy in AD? Assuming this is the right
approache, what do I need to do to ensure it's in effect?

I noticed "computers" does not have a properties option
so I assume I can not apply the .adm to "computers" - is
this right?

Thanks again for all help.

I have not imported it, but it seems to me it would be
inported into the administrative templates of the computer
branch, rather than the users branch.
You should create a new GPO for this, in order to make
it easy to remove this when ready to do so, import the
adm, configure the policy settings in the imported, and
link the GPO to something that contains all of the machines
you want to obey the new policy (like an OU that contains
them all, or the domain if no such OU exists)
