XPE Update Error

Hi,

We are planning to install SQL Express 2005 in a PC which is running under
XPE OS. But during installation it is giving "Windows needs to be updated" as
error. How do I solve this error? I can not give direct live web update
since it is running under XPE. If I build my image using XPE Service pack 2,
will it helpful?? Please advice me in this regard.

Hussain,

There is not general XPe OS. Each XPe image is OS itself.
You will have to analyse the list of components included in your image and find out the missing peices for the SQL Server.
Please read XPe dcos to get familiar with what XPe is: http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded/windowsxpembedded/default.aspx.

Another concern you must have is whether it is legal or not to install the SQL Server (not MSDE) on XPe runtime. (it used to be not
but I lost the track of this legal matter a long time ago).
