Having installed Yahoo Messenger, the icon appears on my taskbar (alongside IE,
OE and Windows Media icons in my case). I simply want to remove it from the
taskbar, but not delete the complete program. Is this possible?

Are you referring to the quick launch toolbar near your Start button?
If so, simply right click on the icon you wish to remove and select
delete. The icon will be gone, but the program remains.

Yes you can hide it. Right-Click on Taskbar and select PROPERTIES. Then click on
CUSTOMISE and select Yahoo Messenger. In the drop down box select ALWAYS HIDE.
Click Apply. You are done!

Thanks for the advice - worked fine. I don't suppose the icon can be removed -
not just hidden - from the area at the right hand side of the taskbar?
