I am running at SP2, and have been trying to debug this issue for a couple
of weeks. When I try to shutdown, it kills a few apps/processes then just
stops. XP still functions, its as though it got lost and just gave up. If I
manually kill the remaining applications, then try again, it will shutdown.
Looked at all the articles I can find on shutdown issues, and this thing
persists. I have eliminated all unecessary services, and updated my video
driver and BIOS, tweaked a few other things. I have tried to narrow down
which application is causing this, but there is no apparent pattern.
How can I pin down which app/process/service is the culprit ?
Thanks,
Scott
