Following a system glitch, I've recently had to carry out a
"non-destructive System Recovery" on my XP machine.
Everything is now completely restored to as before – SP2 downloaded,
all updates on board etc. – and everything works fine, except for one
thing;
Windows will no longer remember any passwords.
Whether we're talking about signing on to a website ("Do you want
Windows to remember this password…" etc.), or MS Outlook logging on to
retrieve e-mails, the system just won't retain any passwords.
As far as I can see, every box that should be checked is checked, but
I'm a bit nervous about starting to fiddle with the Registry.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a quick fix? Come to that, any
ideas at all?
Many thanks in anticipation.
