XP won't make a Pagefile

Hi Folks.

I'm asking help for someone else. The problem he's having
is that his XP Home edition will not make a pagefile.
When he reboots the systen it say's there's no pagefile
and that it will make a temporary pagefile to start his
PC.

We have already did the virtual memory/no pagefile reboot
thing to make a new pagefile, plus set the memory size
correctly, but when it's all done and we go back to check
the virtual memory it keeps saying zero memory.

It just will not make a pagefile on drive C. His drive is
not partitioned. He does have another hard drive
installed called F Drive

Any ideas on this problem.

Thanks, Christopher

Check NTFS Permissions on C Drive's root
Otherwise you can use F Drive for your pagefile

Perhaps the PC uses an Intel chipset, the Intel Application Accelerator
was not deleted prior to an XP reinstall. Take a look in Control
Panel|ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. If the utility is shown there, remove it.
Things should improve immediately.

Then go to the following sites, read up, and install the latest I.A.A. as
instructed...

Open system properties.advanced,virtual-memory,change
button,set C: to 1 1/2 X ram in min.max.3X ram
The trick is you have to click set 2X,then when closing
out,xp has to prompt you to reboot for changes to apply.
Once going set to system manage, set F: as system also,
click set 2X close-out.
