xp won,t start

XP Home will not start - I get the following blue screen:

STOP: Ox0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x804EA218, 0xF8FEF758,
0x00000000)

when I boot. This is a new system that worked fine out of
the box - the only thing I have changed is an added USB
external Hard Drive. Even if I unplug it I still get the
above.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Try booting the Last Known Good configuration.
You may have installed a driver that wasn't compatible
with Windows XP.
