XP will not install

Jason

Something happened the other day to my hard drive and the
partition was corrupted beyond repair. I have since
reformatted the drive. However, when I try to reinstall
XP it gets to the point where it says loading windows and
then re starts the boot process. It does this every time.
I am so frustrated I dont know what to do.

I have/had Go Back running on it previously and the
goback screen still comes up if i tell it to boot from
the hard drive. I am wondering if this is the problem.
However I have no clue how to get rid of it. I thought
formating the drive would do it but it didn't.

Help!!!!

Hi,

The drive itself may be damaged. Download a drive diagnostic utility from
the web site of the drive manufacturer. These are usually free to download.
Run the tests and see what the state of the drive is. *If* it comes up as
ok, then I would suggest you locate a zero-write utility (often found for
free as well) and wipe the drive. Then boot the WinXP CD and create a new
installation partition, format it, and begin the installation. A corrupt
partition usually needs to be removed and rebuilt.

You didn't use GoBack to repair your system. That's what it is best at. And
yes, you have to get GoBack totally off the hard drive before installing the
O/S again.
