XP warning messages

Help. When I boot XP Home from a cold start, I'm suddenly getting two
XP pop up message windows. They are as follows:

Message Window Title: Java Virtual Machine Launcher
Message: Could not find the main class. Program will exit.

and

Window Title: Runner Error
Invalid BackWeb application ID "194057"

I believe these messages began after I rid my machine of a browser
Hijacker named BacWeb Search, or somesuch. I used a commercially
available Spyware remover to do this, and I trust it. However, it may
not have removed everything, or the above messages may not be related to
that action.

Any ideas how to get rid of the pop up messages at boot?

If you have an hp or compaq computer, they use a program called backweb to check for updates on your computer.
Go to www.hp.com and type back web in the search area and you will see the info needed to uninstall there.
I did this myself and went to the last good restore point, and all was fine.
