xp & w2k are both installed - how to reinstall just w2k?

i'm trying to help a friend who installed w2k pro on top of xp home (i didn't
even know this was possible to do!) figure the best thing to do is a clean
install...got to the part in the setup process that asks if I want to delete
a partition...is this what I should do? I'm no technophile so please be
gentle. And if I indeed should delete the partition, will this wipe out stuff
like hardware configs & drivers, etc?

Formatting or deleting is the only path. There is no means to downgrade from
Windows XP to Windows 2000

right...both are on the computer now which means neither works. If I delete
the partition, does that mean all the hardware drivers, configs are also
deleted?

Yes but assuming your hardware is Windows 2000 compliant drivers will be on
the Windows 2000 install CD-Rom.

Be sure to apply these to your new install before connecting to any network.
