XP/Vista dual boot

Steve

I have received an E-mail from Acronis, stating that their program "Disk
Director" does not support Vista and is consequently not suitable for an
XP/Vista dual boot.
I have subsequently tested the Microsoft virtual PC 2007 (can be dl for
free), which is suitable for XP/Vista dual boot but actaally requres 2 GB of
RAM (1 GB for XP and 1 GB fpr Vista)
Apart from that, this method works OK

Steve, I'm not using 1GB of RAM for Vista on VPC 2007 and my system seems to
work ok. Total RAM for my machine is 1.5GB with 1GB for XP and 512MB for
Vista on VPC 2007.

Actually, when creating a virtual hard drive VPC 2007 automatically
allocates 512MB of RAM for the Vista install. To be honest my only reason
for using VPC with Vista was to obtain installation screenshots for my
website, so i took VPC 2007 at face value. To my surprise everything worked
fine with 512MB RAM. Installation, itself was only around 10 minutes longer
than that of my main install on a separate partition. After install on VPC
2007 the system didn't appear to be slow in anyway but, maybe, i was
particularly lucky.
