XP & Vista Boot Options

Since Vista does not use boot.ini, you cannot set XP as the default from
within Vista.

Yes you can

When you are duel booting vista you are using Vista's boot manager.
You will have to set the default from within Vista. Once you set
Earlier versions of windows you get kicked into the old windows
boot.ini

I use it every day.
