XP updates

My system automatically downloaded 4 updates;
KB885836
KB886185
KB873339
KB885835
When I did a re-start I was unable to get to the desk top, after typing in
my password I got an error message, 'the program issued a command but the
command length is incorrect'
I re-started, pressed F5/F8, tried 'safe mode' but with same result, but if
I try 'last known good configuration' then I can start okay, however, it's
still trying to instal 3 of the updates (NOT KB885836) on top of the updates
already installed.
I've uninstalled them, shutdown everything else and installed again but that
doesn't work.
What's going on?

Hi, Same problem with my machine. Same updates automatically installed and
after reboot I can't login. Login is asking for a password for an account
that I set up years ago to login without using a password. This machine is
now useless. what to do? help help! Need access to important data for my work!

A good reason to disble auto update, and manually decide
what's best for your system, not MS corp.

Hope someone here can help you all out, I'll pass
on to folks to stay away from tose 4 update files.
