XP Updates - possible security issue. (Gibe Worm)

D

david palmer

Hi,

BACKGROUND.

My AV package (Panda)has disinfected 250+ instances of
the Gibe Worm last 2wks or so. As anyone who's had it
will be aware, Gibe masquerades as an MS security update.

I've got five "updates waiting for installation"
according to the XP update facility (Tells me every log
on & periiodically throughout each session)

QUESTION.
Could these be Gibe fakes aswell? - I'd send attachment
with this (doc file with wording of updates) but I don't
think the NG system will let me - hasn't in past anyway
