XP Update, then system problems

After the Microsoft Updates issued July 8, 9 we lost all ability to print. We
also lost our ability to restore our system to a restore point. We scan daily
for viruses, malware, etc. and scans are always clean. Is there a patch or
fix? Am ready to format HD and start from scratch.

Open Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. Make sure that the "Show
updates" box is checked toward the top right of the window.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and look for 'Windows XP - Software
Updates '
The updates will be listed in the order they were installed, by Date.

Which updates installed on July 8th/9th ?

The loss of restore points can be associated with certain
antivirus\security suites.

Which one is installed ?
