XP update KB931836 install failing

Hi,
Got the yellow [!] symbol saying updates are ready, click here to install
them. I did that and all of the updates installed except one:

Update for Windows XP (KB931836)

It's the patch for 2007 Daylight Savings Time change.

Now every time I start my computer the update alert pops up again to install
that same update but it fails every time saying "the following updates were
not installed". It's caught in some kind of limbo state because my going to
Windows Update shows "No High Priority Updates Available". How do I install
this patch, I'd obviously like to have it done right.

Thanks,

Don't mean to sound stupid, but you do have your time zone set
correctly, don't you? s

Don't worry about this error. You probably already have a newer
version than what this patch fixes.

Thanks, makes sense.

Any way to get rid of that alert that keep popping up trying to get me to
install the patch that's apparently already there?

Thanks again,

Have you done a Windows Update since yesterday? Sometimes they update
the Genuine Advantage signatures and related files which sort of
brings up to date the existing patches database on a computer and
compares it to what supposed to be latest and greatest. It often
appears as an ActiveX download when you fire up the Windows Update
page. I had the exact same problem as you and after an update or two
of the Genuine Advantage ActiveX control, it stopped bugging me. You
can also try getting ahold of this patch so you'll be fully up to
date: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938977/

Thanks, makes sense to ask that, actually. Sometimes it can be the simplest
thing......
I'm pretty sure my time zone is right, i set it when i bought the machine
and it still currently shows the right time.
