XP update: KB898641

My HD crashed, I installed a new one and loaded XP home from HP/Compaq
recover install disk. I can not get passed UPDATE 3.1 and fails KB898641. On
the initial update nothing installs. It starts initializing, loading then
failing. Need help and can find nothing from 'help and support.

Yes it is 461. Thanks, I have trans posed it at least 3 times in the past 2
days.

Try downloading the update package noted in the above webpage, running it
afterwards from the location you saved it to.
