Someone reinstalled XP but didn't delete the old XP on a
neighbors computer.. The disc is not partitioned. How do I
safely remove the old OS.

Are you saying that the hard disk is partitioned and has XP on either side?
If so, just format the one you don't want to get rid of it.

Are you saying that when you boot the computer, you see 2 choices of XP? If
so, determine if one of them WONT boot into XP which may be the case and if
so, boot with the other and when in XP, change your viewing options to show
ALL files including hidden ones then go to the root of C drive and edit
boot.ini and remove the boot line you don't want any longer.

PARTITION MAGIC should do the job. Search for it on the
internet.

Corday, you can delete the Windows Folder for the old XP. If you are
getting a Boot Menu on Startup, which gives you an
option of which XP to choose then rt click on MyComputer>select
Prop>Advanced>Startup and Recovery-Settings>Edit.
Change the timeout=30 value to 1.
