XP Tooltips and mp3s

Can anyone suggest a fix for the following:

Usually when I hovver the mouse over an mp3 file (any bitrate even
Variable Bit rate ones), a yellow box comes down containing the Name,
Size, Author and Bitrate etc.
The Bitrate section is completely missing.

I've tried doing the> View > Choose Details and checking the Bit Rate
box but to no avail.

Any help much appreciated.
