XP task bar

i am using XP mediacentre with dell. on the task bar I have a lot of sizing
handles which i can't remove. anyone knows why?
i would expect to have only two of them to separate quick launch, middle
section (programs running) and the notication area.
can update ti viesta solve it?

Right click on the taskbar and UNcheck "Lock the taskbar"

The date and time was 1/31/2008 7:32 AM, and on a whim, Bob I pounded
out on the keyboard:

Right click on the taskbar and UNcheck "Lock the taskbar"

On my workstation and others as well, making sizing handles disappear is
done by "Locking the taskbar". ;-)

Try right-clicking on the taskbar and check "Lock the Taskbar".

And Vista won't solve anything either.
