XP startup and shutdown menues changed

For no apparent reason my XP startup and shutdown menus have changed.

For example when I hit Turn Off Computer I don't get the 3 buttons
(Shut Down, Restart and Log Off) but now get a square 98 style box
with drop down style menus.

I think it changed around the time I installed a network at home.

Not a problem really but I'd like the old ones back.

Any ideas??
 
It sounds like your new network is setup with a DOMAIN.
When XP participates in a DOMAIN, the menus are sopposed
to change. What you are seeing is normal. You need to
weigh the value of the old menus AGAINST the value of
having DOMAIN functionality. You can access other
computers (including servers) in a workgroup setting, but
with limited abilities.
