Popup blocker off, IE options set to allow file downloads, firewall off,
but in download window it says Windows has blocked downloads, click on
the info bar for options, check download this file, result is this page
cannot be diplayed.

Any good ideas?

A proxy server setting on the HTTP port 8080 will sometimes cause this.
Tools\internet Options\Connections\Lan settings\ Advanced
If you can bypass it - try it!

check in Explorer tools/internet options/under security tab click on custom
level. Make usre that file downloading tab is enabled as well as any other
related button. Aslo check under Advanced tab for realted buttons to enable.

Thanks, checked that, too. Problem solved though, it was a PDF dl and
Adobe Reader 7 was required. Installed that and all went fine. That
still doesn't explain why Windows was saying it was blocking the dl in
the 1st place when the IE options were clearly set to allow file dl's,
and I've dl'd lots of PDFs that wanted Adobe Reader 7 but they still
dl'd and opened in AR 6. Anyway, the problem no longer exists.

Thanks, but that was already all done. It wound up being an Adobe reader
version issue.
