XP SP2 issue...

Johan Pingree

I have a machine on which I have installed SP2. I have had it running on
this machine for about 2 two weeks now with any issues until today. I was
messing around with my network icon in the tray. I need to disable the
connection for a few minutes for a test. I went to the control panel to open
Network Connections window and it will not lauch!! It refuses to open.
HELP... I have since rebooted the machine, hoping that the network
connection would re-establish itself, but no luck. Still again I tried to
open network connection and nothing!!!

Before I go and un-install SP2, does any have a recommendation as to how I
can get my network connection window to open OR how to get the Network card
enabled????

I would have reported this to the bug center for SP2 but I cannot get there
without a network connection!! :)

thanks - Johan.

I have had SP2 Installed for about the same time, and have just set up a new
network connection today, it worked fine with no problems at all.

I think I read somewhere that it may be possible under the new security
options to block altering or setting up new network connections, so you may
be able to change a setting somewhere but I am not sure where.

I am sorry I can't help you more but it may give you a starting point.
