Hi,

I'm using the Windows XP Service Pack 2 CD provided by Microsoft to update
the OS on my machine. During the installation it all goes well until it get
to the point of "Finishing Installation." It says "Running Process After
Install" I've waited more than an hour and there's no hard drive activity.

I rebooted the machine and upon boot I was informed that the upgrade failed
and that I needed to uninstall SP2 and reinstall it. This took considerable
time for the restore of the old files. Now there are a number of problems
with programs not running correctly or running at all.

Any suggestions for getting SP2 Installed? Or do I wipe the drive and start
over?

Rob,

what problems, which programs?

A repair installation is the second last way out before that.
