XP SP2 access denied and event ID 4373 spmsg.dll

I been trying to install SP2 and get an access denied during the copying files portions of the install. I took ownership of some registry keys, and found the access denied was on spmsg.dll. I renamed the spmsg.dll, and have tried several times to install the service pack but still get access denied.

Anyone see this problem? Know how to resolve it?

Hi

If you have WinXP Pro, you might want to follow the procedure here:

How To Reset Security Settings Back to the Defaults

Thanks, I reset using the command. I am going to try to install sp2 now. It
takes forever on my laptop.

Take Care,
