XP SP1a patch

I have ordered a new computer which is due to arrive any
day now with a copy of XP on it.

To save time (and money) I want to download the SP1a patch
using my fast connection at work, and then transfer it to
my new machine, instead of going through windowsupdate via
my home 56k connection.

Should I download the "Network Installation" or is this
more than I actually need?

It is unclear from the downloads website what to do in
this case.

Yes, it is the "Network Installation" you will need.

Note that most new computers today comes with SP1 already installed...
