After updating Windows XP with the latest patches, my
system now crashes and rebooting at random intervals.
There is a blus screen that gives a message that
says "INVALID_PROCESS_ATTACH_ATTEMPT (Stop 0x00000005)" -
among other things.
Knowledgebase says this is a problem with Computer
Associates program. The suspect file is Ofant.sys. the
problem is I don't have this file.
Upon auto reboot there is a message saying "The system
has recovered from a serious error" and provides some
additional detail (in hex) which doesn't mean alot to me.
The last message indicates that it might be a driver
issue. However, nothing has been changed on my computer
since yesterday when everything worked correctly. The
windows patches also wiped out my "restore" capabilities.
Any thoughts on how to resolve this problem?
Thanks for any help you can provide....
