XP shuts down

After booting Etc. and after working for a short time, a
window pops up that says, System shutting Down, NT
Authority System RPC Service Terminated Unexpectedly.
Acounter runs down and the computer shuts down.
How do I fix this?

Seems there is a masty virus going around, look in some
earlier threads to see how many have the same problem -
some have solutions attached
