xp shuts down with message (remote procedure call).

4 pcs on home network, 2 have xp (1 home ed. 1 pro. ed.).
2 pcs have win98.
All on switch with comcast cable. Both xp systems shutdown
within a few minutes of logging in.
Message:" remote procedure call (rpc) service terminated
unexpectedly. ntauthority/sytem is shutting down system."
When network cable is disconnected, systems stay up.
Please help!

I have got the same message on mine. Looks like you have
had one of you pc's hacked in to and they have left you a
leaving present.
Just have to turn your fire wall on on the pc which is
attached to the internet.
