XP Service Pack 2 Installation Failure Error Code 80070080

While attempting to install Windows XP Service Pack 2, I
receive a Failed installation message upon completing of
the install script. The Error Code is 80070080. A
message also is displayed that states
"The following updates were not installed"

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0 Service Pack 3, English
Version
Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1

Trying to install these updates again result in failure
with no Error Code displayed.
 
Windows update or WIN XP SP2 CD failed to install? there is differnet
problems for each, good luck
