Hi

After installing Windows XP SP2, my Maxtor 40Gb 7200rpm HDD is now Ultra
DMA 2 instead of UDMA 5. Is there a work around besides uninstalling SP2?

If you have intel hardware on youre MB,go to thier site,
download application accelerator,once installed,open,click on
a hd,locate a wrench (means adjustable),double click on it
or open, then adjust to ultra dma 5,then go to file, select, make
adjustments.close out restart computer.

What tells you it's UDMA 2? What model HD exactly? What kind of a cable is
it attached to(40 wire or 80 wire)?

The BIOS and Device Manager report UDMA 2. I Maxtor 40Gb 7200rpm HDD.
I am us the 80 wire cable.

I no longer think this an XP SP2 problem. I suspect it is the ASUS
P4P800 Deluxe Motherboard that is at fault.

Thanks
