There is an annoying graphics bug that has been around ever since XP beta 3,
when you turn off the "Show translucent selection rectangle" and then open a
folder and drag around some objects it will leave visible traces around the
edges of the folder.
This is not a graphics card issue or a driver issue, I have had at least
five different brands of graphics cards and numerous versions of drivers, I
have also seen the problem on other computers with XP.
Why this bug is never fixed I don't know.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Un-check the "Show translucent selection rectangle" under the control
panel > system > advanced > performance > visual effects.
2. Open a folder window, for example "my Documents", drag and select a
number of objects and then drag them over the
edges of the folder.
