I can't figure out how to stop xp from trying to
access my a: drive every time I open a program.
I saw that someone else had the same problem
yesterday and I did a search using the FIND command
for *.LNK and a:/ files. It showed alot of files.
Unfortunatly, the person who responded to the problem
didn't offer any more information on what to do with
that list. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks in advance.

I know it sounds obvious, but does this happen when you
have no disk in the machine? I know my explorer only
searches for the a drive if there's something in it.

Uninstall the floppy drive then reinstall it, or just unplug the thing!
