XP search = google search

- Bobb -

I just noticed that when I do a search on my XP SP2 box, I get an
"Unexpected error Action could not be completed " box is from "search
companion" Event /errorlog is clean. I can't search at all. While
checking everything I can I clicked on Search preferences and I get a
GOOGLE search box !
I installed Google Earth a few weeks ago ( and unchecked every "install"
other than Earth). Anyone else have this ?
How to get back to MS search so I can search my PC for a file ?
I'll uninstall google earth in the meantime and update

Ramesh,

That worked fine thanks. BTW I noticed that I had 4 entries there - I'll
compare to an old regedit save to compare.

Reading your signature, I checked your website and found
http://www.winhelponline.com/articl...-defrag-so-that-it-runs-only-when-needed.html

I've been looking to automate my defrag process via task scheduler so I
create a file - entered the vbs script and ran it...
I did get a dos pop-up window (once for each drive?) but not get any
message - is that right ? The empty DOS box appeared - then closed, then
another opened for 4-5 seconds - then closed until all boxes closed. So
that's Good ? If it needs defrag would I see a message ?

Thanks for the help.

Bobb

Glad that helped, Bobb.

Yes, once for each drive.

Nope. But you can customize the script if you want.
