XP Screen goes Blank after 20 minutes or less-caused by update pro

My screen in windows XP goes blank after about 20 minutes of mouse Non
movement. This has been caused after attempting windows update. Because
windows update was only half complete after 85 minutes i stopped update. This
was when screen problem going blank started.
I have tried -"screen saver-power schemes-turn off monitor-NEVER".
Also tried system restore to earlier date.

Try to run this:
sfc /scannow
Or let us have the Event Viewer error log.

You're internet connection must be thru a dial-up ISP at that speed...Try
running windows update yourself but select the "custom option" or press the
button upon starting the scan..Once it shows the updates,select maybe 15 or
so,
once its thru installing,restart pc when/if prompted,back in xp,restart
update..
Keep going till all thru,a smaller amount of updates at a time should end
youre
problem..
