XP says I have Admin access but installers say I don't!

How do you fix XP when it says you do not have Administrative rights to
install software (such as Quicktime and Shockwave), yet it is your own
personal PC, meaning you really do have these rights? The user setup
for me as a user does say that I have Admin rights, but the installers
think otherwise?

Could be the difference between you logging on as you (with Admin rights)
and you logging on as Administrator. Try booting the system and at the
log-in screen do a Ctrl-Alt-Del twice and log-in as Administrator and try
the installs again.
