XP registering

My Son installed XP but didn't register it right away. It
comes up 25 days left. I was doing some XP "crical"
updates and now come up with an error code "0X80004005"
for registration authenticating, et.. Now it show the
desktop background and comes back to trying to logon. Any
ideas how to register this XP so I can get back to
business? Thanks.
 
Boot in Safe Mode with Networking by pressing F8 at boot up (keep pressing
right at the beginning until the menu appears)
Then go to Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Activate Windows
