XP Reactivation - local scripting problem

After fitting an additional hard disk in my PC, my OEM copy of Windows XP saw this as a significant change to my system then stated that it needed to be activated. When I try, a message pops up saying: 'Activate Windows cannot run because local scripting has been disabled on this computer. Scripting may have been disabled for virus prevention or as a security measure. Once local scripting has beeen enabled, run Activate Windows again'. I have turned off the virus scanner, I have looked at the services, event viewer, security policies and MS's support webpages. I can see nothing that refers to 'local scripting'. I have only three days to activate XP. Any ideas?

False alarm. I found that am able to activate Windows when I am logged-on as 'Administrator'. This is odd since the user I was logged-in as is an administrator.
