XP purchase Upgrade or Full?

My PC came with Windows ME and I would like to re-install
Windows XP Home on it. Can I use the Upgrade kit or must I
buy the Full kit? The MS site indicates I can upgrade from
ME to XP Home.
I've got some quarrantined files in NAV so I'd like to
format the disk.

Do you have the Win ME CD for verification? If so, you can perform a 'clean'
installation if you purchase a retail upgrade versionof XP.
