XP prompts installation for printer already installed on reboot

Xp runs the hardware manager and detects new hardware,
printer which is already installed. This happens on every
reboot. I have to cancel 3 times to remove the annoying
window.
HP720C printer installed on XP as recommended by
manufacturer using updated drivers for this O/S.
Any advice?

Try removing the plug from the computer to your printer,
removing ALL drivers connected to it and then restarting.
Hopefully it doesn't find anything and then install the
printer as the manual suggests. Good luck
