XP Product Key Change Question

I used the Microsoft online product key check and apparently my product key
comes up invalid. I know there are some different versions(OEM,Retail,Corp)
of the XP cd and the product keys only work with the appropriate version. My
question... I know my install was not a retail copy, but if I purchase a
full retail version, can I change the product key on my current install or
would I need to reinstall XP so that the retail key would match the retail
install cd?

You'll need to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP
Professional and perform a "Repair Install" using the new
Windows XP CD and Product Key.

I'll pass on the "repair" option...been there..done that...BSOD or
issues....
I will just save my data and do a fresh install...
Thanks for the link...just wanted to know which way to plan my XP key
fix....I guess I get to reload...its about that time anyway...
