MS Online Assistance Support form requires XP Product ID
and says where to locate it on the system. However,
unable to view it there as the problem I wish to report
prohibits getting to Desktop upon Startup!
XP recently installed and working fine 4+ weeks. I have
the CD, installation booklet/folder which as the Product
KEY affixed to the back.
Product ID and Product Key seem to be different, as the
support form field is too small for the entire Product Key
info.
Any other way to find Product ID#?

Hi Monte,

Have you tried Safe mode yet? Hit F8 when WinXP starts to get the boot
options screen and try it.

If you can at least get to the logon screen, hit ctrl+alt+delete twice, then
select the task manager from the lower options. Then click 'new task' and
browse to or type in C:\Windows\system32\sysdm.cpl and select it. If you
can't see it, change the bottom dropdown from programs to all files. This
will open the system applet so you can read the Product ID.
