XP Pro

My inquiry is, when one buys the XP Pro upgrade, does that enable one to
have a back up disk to trouble shoot the OS when and if there is a failure?
I, thankfully, haven't had a problem with my XP Home OS yet, but always
wanted the original CD, which was not included with my machine when I bought
it. Or, do I have to get the XP Pro full version?

Hi, could you explain what you mean a bit more. If you but the CD Upgrade
then you can make a backup copy of that CD if you wish. In order to use
that backup or the original when installing you will need to have a
supported OS installed or have the CD media so you can prove that you
qualify for an upgrade.

Windows XP Home and Pro both have the option to use NTBackup. This will
enable you to make a backup of your PC to a second hard drive partition to
tape drive.

If you mean that you would just like a Windows XP CD-ROM so its easy to
repair and fix your XP install you could actually just purchase a Windows XP
Home Upgrade. This could also be done with purchasing an Windows XP Upgrade
and install that. Then you will also have the CD Media.

If you are asking if the XP Upgrade contains the tools, recovery console,
repair install, etc. that will allow you give you additional tools to deal
with problems that might come up as well as allow you an option other than
just a recovery that wipes your drive, then yes, the XP Pro Upgrade CD has
those tools and options.
