Does anybody know if there is a way for workgroup
connections to XP pro to use credentials other than
GUEST. This makes it impossible to remotely administer an
xp desktop in a workgroup or an unknown domain directly.
I can not use the REMOTE DESKTOP facility as I wish to
script my commands. NT and 2000 are no problem.

Any ideas ?

When XP is in Simple sharing mode all remote access, once
authenticated, takes place under an authorization as Guest.
Switch out of this mode, or use the Local Policy / Security Option
policy under Network Access: Sharing and Security Model

I am in normal mode. Still doesn't make any difference.
It will ONLY connect as guest. Do you know anything
different ?
