Okay here is the problem:
My PC has 1 hard drive. It came with Windows ME installed. Back in August,
I got XP Pro to install. I partitioned the HD using Partition Magic ver.
8.0 into 2 partitions with C: having ME and I successfully installed XP on
partition D:. I left it like this until I felt XP was going to work okay on
D: and I had all my needed files moved from C: to D:. Well last week, I
felt I could clean-up/format the C: partition as XP was working great.
So using Partition Magic (PM) I had on D:, I opened it and had it format C:.
Well, the PC would not restart. I used my PM rescue disks, from the
partitioning I did in August, and I could see both the C: & D:, however no
drive letters were assigned nor was there an option to let me assign drive
letters.
I then tried to re-install XP to the D: and after every install, about 10
attempts, and restart, I get a "press any key to use CD", thus it would not
see the install. I even did a Repair and could then see all my
files/folders that were on D: now on C: and the just installed XP on D:
Problem is it won't restart and always wants to reinstall XP on D:.
Any suggestions or help?

I'm not sure what you've done exactly but is the partition you're trying
to boot from set to be Active? You can set that either with PM or just
DOS fdisk.

If you press a key at that "press any key to boot from CD" prompt, it
restarts the installation. If you ignore the prompt, it should boot from the
hard drive and complete the installation.

If you've tried letting it continue instead of restarting over and over,
what problem occurs at that point?
